Dear Praying Friends,
We praise God for His faithfulness, never failing us, even though we fail Him. We are so thankful to have the Word of God that shows us the way no matter how those around us are changing.
The work continues every week, but we are seeing the deaf yield to the world rather than to God. They acquiesce rapidly to the teaching/preaching of the Word of God, but yield just as quickly to a friend who says the party will start before church is out. Oh, how much we need to learn about faithfulness from our most faithful Friend.
Gary has been taken off the original biologic because it worked wonders with the pain, but was not relieving the psoriasis on the skin. It requires a new adjustment to a different medicine, but it should attack both the pain and the skin patches.
Ann still battles with exhaustion and other difficulties. She has lost weight but prefers to manage it on her own without the meds that the doctors prescribe. Please remember her in your prayers.
We are working on several issues at the church that stem from the registration and legal aspects of being a church. Unlike in most places in the States, a church is looked at as just another business, except for the structure of its organization. The structure the government wants is a typical hierarchy with a "boss" at the top, and then other minor officers under him. Their preference would be a large denominational structure where one large office would respond to everything for all the smaller churches. That would mean that a church would need permission from the head office to purchase anything. As an independent Baptist church, we do not fit that type of organization. We tried years ago to make our Mission (BIMI) fit, but the government demanded that all organization be in the form above. That was cancelled which means each church has to make their organization fit the government model, which is not independent. Anyway, we are working through these issues just like every other church – except our leadership is comprised of Deaf individuals. Just keep us in your prayers, if you would, please.
Pray that the Word of God would fully embed itself into the hearts of our folks, so that the first reaction is, "What does the Bible say?" We will then have reached our goal in this Deaf ministry.
Thank you for your prayers and support. God continues to use us to reach the Deaf. Pray that we might be worthy of our calling.
