Saturday Morning

Good news! I was able to chat with Mike last night for a few minutes from his hospital. He began perking up after the doctors were able to jump start his kidneys. He was due to have dialysis but it was postponed with the hope of starting his own kidneys. His kidneys did start working but only partially in amount and in function, but that is a good direction.      Mike has been a diabetic for years and it has caused great damage to his body. Diabetes normally affects the eyes, kidneys, and most other organs of the body. Mike became blind about three years ago. Previously, he had trouble with his feet for more than a year. Now it has attacked his kidneys, causing a total shutdown.      Mike's electrolytes were also askew, especially his phosphorous. The doctors expected with his other levels at where they were that his phosphorous would be high. However, it was low. So, the entire team is trying to figure out diet, medication, treatment and other issues to get him back to &qu

Tuesday

Praying Friends,         Mike seems to be having a little worse day today than yesterday. He is still full of toxins with an estimated 15% functionality from his kidneys. The doctor is still talking about full dialysis. Mike gets confused sometimes due to the toxins and has pulled out tubes on a regular basis. His cardiologist feels they pretty well have his congestive heart failure under control. Of course, all the liquids in his system do not help. Please continue to pray for Mike and family, especially his wife Carol, as she is giving 100%+ at this time.      On another tone, Ann's uncle passed away yesterday in WV. He had been quite sick for awhile and was recently moved to a care facility. Please pray for the Rock family.      Thank you so much for caring and continuing to pray. Gary & Ann

Monday PM

I talked to Mike's daughter Joy tonight and she said they have put Mike on Lasix to help him rid his body of toxins and liquids. He had not wanted to start the dialysis so they hope this medication will do the trick. He is some better today and was supposed to be checked by his cardiologist to make sure it was not causing more trouble with his heart disease. PLEASE continue to pray for Mike, Carol, his wife (constantly at his side) and his family. We thank you so much for your faithfulness in praying. Be sure to check back here for updates. Gary

Urgent Prayer Request

Gary's brother Mike was taken to the hospital last night by ambulance due to renal failure and is presently in ICU. He is a diabetic and started retaining fluid. They feel at this time that it is treatable with dialysis. Please pray sincerely for Mike Layne . Thank you for caring. Gary & Ann
