  Some days are just a lot harder than others. Cheyenne called after taking Lance to school to tell is that Lance got caught in the door of the city bus. There was a group of Jr. High kids getting off in front of them so she put Lance in front of her, but behind the kids. The bus driver suddenly took off, closing the door on Lance's arm. Fortunately, Lance was still inside, as was Cheyenne. Another lady screamed at the top of her lungs at the bus driver and he stopped and let them off. Cheyenne had purposely put herself behind Lance in case the driver could not see Lance. However, he didn't bother to look. When he felt they had stopped long enough, he took off without even checking to see if the passage door was clear. Cheyenne was a little more than shook up. Some of the routes here are famous for such careless driving, often killing dozens of people a year.      After calling us to update us, she told us the neighbor, Reina, took her in, sat her down and made her drink a C

      I feel like Noah today. Most of the night and all of the morning we have been inundated with heavy showers. Our driveway has been under two to three inches of water. It seems there are three major systems just off our west coast. The first was hurricane Jova that came ashore last night about 11:00 PM just about a hundred miles due west from here on the coast. Another hurricane is right on its heels expected to make landfall tonight and then head south. Just south of that one is a tropical storm that is also keeping things stirred up. The unusual thing about this is the number of disturbances, the closeness to us and the time of the year. It is usual for us to have two or three a year move up the coast, but off shore so we only get a little rain in August and September. Many years, the rainy season is completely over by October and we would see no additional rain until June.
