We have a personal request for your prayers and a praise - all at the same time. Faithann was sitting in their home Friday chatting with her husband when she started having pains (three months pregnant). Over a short period of time the pains got worse until her water broke.  Her husband called a friend to take them to the clinic to be checked out. There, she began bleeding profusely. The clinic got her stabilized and then sent her by ambulance to a woman's hospital. There they worked with her for a while and performed the necessary procedure to get her "normalized." Obviously, they lost the baby but Faithann is doing well. It will require a period of complete rest and longer for her to recuperate fully. We would appreciate your prayers for her.
We received word today that our dear friend, Rev. Earl Kilpatrick, has passed into Eternity as of last night. He had recently been facing great difficulties physically and has been at the home of his son in Houston. Arrangements have been made and he will be buried in North Carolina.
While we were still in college, we attended one of our missions conferences and met with the Frontier Baptist Mission representative and learned that founder and president of the mission had been killed in a car accident. It was mentioned that the board was looking at Bro. Kilpatrick as his replacement, but we did not know him. We were interested in knowing of deaf works in Mexico.
About twelve years later we were on our way to Mexico and were supposed to meet two missionaries at the border. That meeting turned out to be at Frontier Baptist Mission where we got to meet the Kilpatricks. From that day (1983) until his passing, they were very kind to us to allow us to stay with them at the mission when we went out to the border. They treated us as though we were family and we were allowed to share with them even in their ministry in Mexico. Please pray for the family in this time of bereavement and for strength for them.
We also learned that Monday, another pastor friend of ours who was from the Huasteca passed away. Bernabé Hernández was the pastor who got on the radio and announced in Nahuatl (Indian language) that we were having classes to teach the deaf. He helped visit each of the homes and assure the parents we were OK. He offered his church to us so we could meet and his family prepared the meals for the deaf. He was always a true friend to us and to the ministry. By the way, one of the young men that Hensons first taught in Mexico was Bernabé's brother. He was truly a servant of God who rode through his people's mountains evangelizing and sending forth the Word of God. Pray for the family please.
We still have no permanent Internet connection but have seen it stabilize. thank you for caring and praying.
Gary & Ann
