November Blessings

WOW! Ever have one of those services in your church? We hope so. That was our service last Sunday. Armando presented a good message on prayer followed by a baptismal service. I mentioned that Omar had approached me about getting baptized. That set off a couple of classes on baptism since a couple of the folks were younger. By the time of the service on Sunday, seven had decided to be baptized.
We had a cool spell come through last week so the temperature was a little cool  and our baptistry is outside. Armando warmed some of the water, but when the younger ones entered, it took their breath. Ruth Irene was the first - one of the children of two of our deaf who met and married in the church. Later, two teenagers (19) followed by Monse, the wife of Omar. These folks (Omar and Monse) came to us from a totally LOST background, with absolutely no interest in salvation. We have since learned that Omar was the "devil" of the subdivision because no one could get along with him. Both sides of the family are very strong Catholic. When Monse was baptized, she took a couple of seconds to regain her breath, turned to the congregation, raised her hands toward Heaven and signed "Glory to God!" When Omar was baptized, he also took a second to regain composure and breath and simply beamed with God's glory. To meet them now, you would define them as sweet Christian folks who obviously have walked with the Lord for years - and they just got saved in September. Omar is an absolute "teddy bear" for the Lord. "Devil of the subdivision?" No more!!!
After the services, Armando had a class to teach many of these new ones about the church constitution. We were very pleasantly surprised when the church was pleasantly in full agreement as to the upcoming business meeting (one of our "older" members thought that the new ones should wait a year before becoming full fledged members). After the day was over, we simply sighed and said "Praise God." CHECK BACK IN A DAY OR TWO FOR PICTURES AT THIS BLOG. Ann's camera is broken, so we will have to bum photos from others.
Ann's surgery went very well since the doctor predicted one hour and a half as minimum, but was finished in less than an hour. He was VERY happy when he met us to tell us everything was fine and it was just a cyst, liquid, with no thickness. She is recuperating very well, even including a cold she contracted on Saturday. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us during this difficult time. God is so good!
