We are FINALLY trying to dry out again. The highway was still flooded both North and South until yesterday afternoon. The South stretch opened almost a lane down the middle. Today it has dropped below the pavement and is apparently drying up. The northern stretch is still completely shut off. We have to drive around the barriers to get into the mission, but that is legal. The driving through eight inches of water two or four times a day was getting old (going south).

Our storage building has finally cleared the water as of this morning. It never got into it the second time but did cover the bottom of it until last night sometime since the rains last weekend.

Our only problem now are the Texas mosquitoes. They are between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch long with mouth parts proportionate. When they bite, they hurt! This is obviously Ann's arm. I couldn't stand still long enough to let a mosquito land and then bite me while taking a picture. Any time we walk outside, swarms are all around and over us. They had been spraying but apparently the funds have dried up.

We decided this weekend that we are going to close up the storage building, send out our supplies to a rental building and go to Mexico.

The building way back in the background is about one half mile away. You will notice all the water. Yes, with no rain (it is all being sucked up into Gustov as we are on the West side of the storm), it should dry out quickly since several days are predicted to be dry and 100 or more degrees. Even after the water is down, so much mud remains that it takes days to get out to our building without plowing a new field for them.

Thank you for all the prayers and interest. We are excited to get back on the field and hope that this is the right decision. Our building will probably mold and maybe rot, but there is not much we can do about that right now. We will come out in a couple of months and see what can be done. Pray that we will follow God's direct leading as to the place He wants us to serve him. We remain Christ's servants for you sake. Ann & Gary
