12 November 2015      Praise be to God! After a long battle, we as of Noon today have Internet. You may remember that we tried many months ago to get Internet and were told a variety of reasons why we couldn't. Most were bogus. Cheyenne even went last September and put in a new contract. They said it could be connected almost immediately since they had checked with "headquarters." Two days later a man called and said there were no numbers available ( after headquarters verified that everything was go). We smelled a rat but what could we do?       Last week Cheyenne and I went to the village and just happened upon a man working on the main panels of connections. He said there were plenty of connections available and started asking questions. Finally, he blew all the other "excuses" we had heard apart and gave us the pole number, the box and his name. Dear Praying Friends,      The above verse is often quoted (and misquoted) to justify some great problem that comes our way. We certainly understand why after the past five weeks. Starting towards the end of August we have seen one problem after another in our village. Over the past five weeks we have been without electricity for a total of four of the last five weeks. It started with a strong storm that passed through and destroyed some of the network that supplies electricity to our quadrant. We do not know exactly what it was, but it shut off the power from Guadalajara to us, about 15 miles. It took five days for them to work from town to us. We were so thrilled when finally power was restored. No power equals no lights (obviously), no recharging, no Internet and no water (we have well water). The...

Today’s young people have many newer ways of learning, but those same media are full of false teaching and dangerous misunderstandings of the Word of God. We have been working with some of those young people to get them as founded in the Word of God as the older ones.   Scripture teaches that those of more mature spiritual foundation should teach those of lesser foundation, but sometimes culture overrides the truth. Dear Praying Friends,      Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer. I will explain what happened in just a minute. I apologize to those of you who received a blank email, and especially to those who did and still prayed anyway. Thank you.       Yesterday, early morning, a military helicopter went on patrol preparing for an operative today in which they would seek out the trouble spots in Jalisco. It was a combined military, Federal and local police operative. The patrol yesterday was just looking over things when they discovered a column of the bad guys moving along a back road. The bad guys opened fire with a 50 caliber machine gun mounted in a pickup truck. They killed three soldiers and managed to down the helicopter in a hard landing. Obviously, that brought out everyone in a shootout.      The reaction of the bad guys was to start stopping cars, buses and trucks, blockading the roads and burning the vehicles. ...

PRAY FOR GUADALAJARA. Today is a holiday so we were not surprised when the sirens started a little after nine - we live on a major four lane highway. In just a few minutes, it was clear it was NOT just another wreck. As I write (10:45) the sirens continue. There are 20 major blockades around the city where they take cars, trucks or buses and burn them to stop traffic. Pray for peace. Gary

January-February, 2014 Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Dear Praying Friends,      Thank you so much for praying for us as we labor here. The year 2014 was one of the best in a long while. We had many battles and many victories. We were able to lead nine deaf to receive the Lord and some hearing folks along the way. There are times when it seems we just cannot get the new ones to understand, and then all of the sudden the Lord opens the doors and several come to a real knowledge of Him. We are so grateful for His faithfulness to us.      Our city celebrated its 473 rd birthday on February 14 th . It is obvious from some of the buildings that it is a very old city, but to realize HOW old is still amazing to us.
